Netscape has suffered in the recent years. I would say the it all started back when they went to court with Microsoft back in the 90's. Then AOL bought them, and it looked like the browser would still be around.
AOL turned netscape.com into a 'social news site' That's just a euphemism for blog portal. Eveyone thinks they are an expert on some topic, so they post an article on it. Here's a screenshot:
But lo and behold, AOL now has propeller.com, and they will be moving all this amateur crap over to it. They opted for a more traditional news site, and you can see it at netscape.aol.com
